Just a quick blog to let everyone know about the changes to device redirection settings for AVD host pools!

Starting on 4/28/2025, redirections for clipboard, local drive, USB devices, and printers will now be disabled by default in the host pool’s “RDP Properties” if the pool is created after the mentioned date.  There will be a notification that will inform admins of the new defaults.  Existing host pools will not be affected by this change.

You will still be able to change these redirections from the Azure portal, Intune or with Group Policy (GPO).

Big Chris Recommends: I like Microsoft taking the initiative to secure host pools as they are being built.  However, please review the “RDP Properties” of your host pool to ensure the pool is as secure as needed before you have users log into the pool.
