We now have a way to manage settings for provisioned Cloud PC’s on the fly. Cloud PC Settings are dynamic settings that can be set during a Cloud PC’s lifecycle.
Cloud PC Settings offers four types of settings objects:
- Cloud PC configurations
- Windows App settings
- Remote connection experience
- User settings
Like most Intune configuration profiles and group policy objects, for most settings, you have the following options:
- Not configured: Nothing is set, so the setting isn’t enabled or disabled.
- Enabled: Enables the setting.
- Disabled: Disables the setting.
Big Chris recommends: Like all settings available from Microsoft management tools, please pay attend to the wording of the setting before you select “Enable” or “Disable” for a setting. You may inadvertently turn a setting on or off on which you didn’t plan.
The settings available for configuration on each object are as follows:
- Cloud PC configurations
- Sign in to Intune, select Devices > Manage Windows 365 Cloud PCs > Cloud PC Settings.
- Click on Create and select Cloud PC configurations from the dropdown.
- Enter a Name for the setting (required) and include a description (optional).
- Configure settings as desired.

Big Chris Notes: If you enable this feature, ensure you have a more powerful Cloud PC, 8 vCPU / 32 GB / 256 GB+.

- Windows App Setting
- Sign in to Intune, select Devices > Manage Windows 365 Cloud PCs > Cloud PC Settings.
- Click on Create and select Windows App settings from the dropdown.
- Enter a Name for the setting (required) and include a description (optional).
- Configure settings as desired.

- Remote connection experience
- Sign in to Intune, select Devices > Manage Windows 365 Cloud PCs > Cloud PC Settings.
- Click on Create and select Remote connection experience from the dropdown.
- Enter a Name for the setting (required) and include a description (optional).
- Configure settings as desired.

Big Chris recommends: Be sure you have your authentication context configured before you enable any of the device redirection settings. Refer to my blog post, Context-based Redirections for Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365, now in Public Preview! for more!
- User Settings
- Sign in to Intune, select Devices > Manage Windows 365 Cloud PCs > Cloud PC Settings.
- Click on Create and select User Settings
- Under Settings, enter a name for the setting.
- Configure settings as desired.

Big Chris’ Notes: When you select “Enable Local admin” or “Enable users to reset their Cloud PC’s,” this is for every user in the Entra ID group where the settings are assigned.
- To complete the Cloud PC Settings (any setting):
- After configuring the settings, click Next.
- For Cloud PC configurations, Windows App settings, and Remote connection experience, add Scope tags (optional).
- Under Assignments, choose Add Groups.
- Under Select groups to include, choose a group of users to get the settings > Select.
- Select Next.
- On the Review + save page, select Create.
The settings will be applied based on a number rank, with “1” being the highest priority. If there is a settings conflict, the settings object with the highest rank will have its settings applied. You can change the ranking by clicking on “Rerank policies” at the top of the “Cloud PC Settings” area of Intune.

Click Save once you have your policies ranked.
With these settings available in the same area in Intune where you are configuring provisioning of Cloud PC’s, Cloud PC Settings are the best and easiest way to apply critical settings to your Cloud PC’s!
